Poetry by Motown Terri
My mix of poetry styles
are quirky, provocative
influential, but essential
maybe even a bit mental
but one thing is for sure
my inspiration is pure.
Leaves Falling
The season of fall
leaves dying
changing colors
bright and glowing
the wind blowing
to the ground they fall
I love the science of it all
The thought of ice and snow
is just too much to take
branches would break
so the tree tells the leaves
when it's time to go
What does the leaf hear from the tree?
"It's time to get off of me"

Music Energy
Music fills the heart and mind
it makes you unwind
It can fuel your passion
and bring interaction
Simply attach a memory
to a harmony
that's the energy that drives me
let it play
Lost in the Music
My music is blaring
faces are staring
some eyes are glaring
I'm swaying in the air
I just don't care
let 'em stare
I'm lost in the music
Lyrical Glory
Lyrics can make you stop and think
make you ponder and wonder
great words that tell a story
put them to music and it's glory!
Musician's Fan
I'm a huge fan, just waiting to meet
that famous singer, he sweeps my off my feet
I ask myself calmly, why do I fear
his presence might shock, his voice I long to hear
I don't fear the reaper, yet fear meeting him
haven't been lucky, and chances are slim
I think of the meeting, just what would I say
hoping the words, please don't slip away!
The Crooner
Just look at the way he stares
deep into your soul he bares
it all and you know he cares
truly about his music and he dares
to make you weak in the knees he wears
you down and draws you into him and he tears
at your heartstrings
9/11 Remembrance
Heroes and innocent lives we'll never forget
a day that lives in infamy you can bet
tears and anger still with us to today
but I always think of them when I pray
Feeling the sorrow
We try to be strong
see loss as a new beginning
instead of an ending
a reason for living
a deeper meaning
In lonely hours
if the tears devour
know you're surrounded
by the highest powers
and may those tears of sorrow
turn into tears of joy
at the remembrance of life
Remembering Mom
Wherever the ocean meets the sky
will be memories of her and you
and when you look up at that sky
she will see visions of you, too!
God really needed her
that's why she couldn't stay
but in your heart her life goes on
forever thoughts will stay.
